- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 oz vodka optional, to help preserve the syrup
Combine 1 cup of hot water with 1 cup of white sugar in a mason jar.
Stir until all of the sugar has dissolved, then allow the syrup to cool before using.
Store the syrup in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Make Rich Simple Syrup by combining 2 parts sugar with 1 part water
- Rich simple syrup is 1.5x sweeter than simple syrup. It will last much longer in the fridge than basic simple syrup.
Make sugar-free, keto simple syrup with 2 parts allulose powder and 1 part water.
Make a basic fruit simple syrup with 2 parts fruit, 1 part sugar, 1 water.
- Heat the ingredients in a small sauce pan over medium-low heat, stirring frequently until all of the sugar dissolves.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
- Remove the pan from the heat and allow the liquid to cool fully before straining out the solids.
- Store in a covered container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
